Crisis Intervention Training for Disaster Workers
George Doherty , author of the book Crisis Intervention Training for Disaster Workers, is a therapist, and has a Masters Degree in Psychology. He spent 11 years flying for the Wyoming Civil Air Patrol as a squadron commander in disaster relief. He has served in the US Air Force as a Connally Navigator. He also served the Red Cross as a disaster relief consultant.
George is the founder and president of the Rocky Mountain Region Disaster Mental Health Institute, located in Laramie, Wyoming. The mission of this institution is to promote the development and practice of research and training in the field of Disaster Mental Health Iinterventions.
He is also the author of 2 other books, Counseling Innovative Responders in 911 and Counseling Firefighters and Their Families.
